Microeconomics and Game Theory

Microeconomics & Game Theory

As of October 1, it is possible for FAU WiSo Master students to join the StudOn course Microeconomics and Game Theory in Winter Semester 2024/25. We ask all course participants to join via StudOn by October 14, 2024. You can request the StudOn password from Sebastian Ach (sebastian.ach@fau.de).

Various materials concerning prior knowledge are available on StudOn. You will also find a survey on prior knowledge there; please take part in this survey by October 18, 2024. Thank you in advance.

Course offered: annually in Winter Semester

Content:  Microeconomic theory of household, microeconomic theory of the firm, equilibrium theory, basic concepts of non-cooperative game theory.

Educational objectives and skills:  Students learn on the basis of microeconomic methods to analyze the behaviour of suppliers and customers and their interaction in product and factor markets; to analyze strategic approaches of economic agents applying game-theoretic methods; are enabled to apply the acquired theory to relevant practical problems; will be trained in analytical thinking.
